Minimising Risk

When GDPR was introduced in 2018, it had two main aims – helping to protect individuals’ data and helping organisations protect themselves against cyber attacks and data breach.

Since then, the body of further standards such as Cyber Essentials, ISO-27001, NIS2 Directive and DORA has been getting more rigorous and demanding, usually with direct financial implications for businesses. For example, the potential loss of valuable business contracts if, as part of a supply chain, you don’t comply with regulatory requirements, or the loss of Government funding if your cybersecurity measures are not up to standards. Additionally, cyber insurance companies are now stipulating that more rigorous cybersecurity measures are in place before they will offer meaningful insurance policies.

Cybersecurity should be one of the highest priorities for any business given the huge risks.

We at EnterpriseRed are continually enhancing the solutions we offer to help businesses achieve this.

What can be done?

Cyberattacks are common in today’s business world and attackers are becoming more sophisticated and determined to breach your organisation’s defences. Your goal is to improve resilience, stay one step ahead and reduce the risks of attacks succeeding, or at least minimise the impact when an attack occurs.

A combination of cybersecurity systems, physical security and personnel training is the best way to improve cyber resilience.

Why do it?

A preventative, rather than purely corrective, approach is key: improving resilience and preventing a breach is a lot less costly and disruptive than having to clear up after one, especially given the potential reputational damage that often follows a breach.
